What size gloves would be best for me and my brother?

we are all heavy weights and/or cruiserweights. we are going to buy some all purpose boxing gloves, gloves that we can hit the heavy bag with and spar with and hit the pads with. what size gloves would be good for that?? 12 oz, 14 oz, or 16 oz.???
