What could cause a rim to rub?

I have a 1997 oldsmobile bravada that the drivers side rim is rubbing on one of the components in the front end. It rubs when you have the wheel turned to the right. I think it needs an alignment or a ball joint, or both. It currently has oversized tires on it but theyre getting taken off when i can get new ones. Anyone have any ideas?
