Is it safe to drive an old car long distances?

i have a 20 year old oldsmobile cutlass supreme. it is in great condition both cosmetically and engine wise. no rust or scratches and it rides perfectly smooth. is it safe to drive this car 2.5 hours and back again over a weekend?
