Would a 1969 Oldsmobile 442 engine work after sitting for 26 years?

The body is shot but my dad put alot into the motor but it has been sitting for about 30 years.Would this motor work if i drop it in another vehicle? Any tips on how to get it running? It is a all out motor race engine.
