My car wont turn on ( no sounds or click )?

I have a 1994 Oldsmobile cutlass ciera. Yesterday I drove it from work to my home, and it was fine. Today morning the car won't turn on. When I put the key in the ignition switch I don't hear a click or anything, Just at the end of the turn, it gets hard with no clicks or any sound. I believe the battery is working fine, cause the lights and the windows, and the windshield wipers are working perfect. It has fuel in it like a half tank, so its not out of gas, Any ideas? thanks.
