1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue crank shaft position sensor?

I need to put a new sensor in. Anyone ever done this before? I think it is located above the starter. Do I need to remove the starter to get to it? Also, I have a scan tool, but I'm not sure about the "learn" procedure that the new sensor will need.
